New FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler Makes Staff Appointments

New FCC Chairman TOM WHEELER has announced several staff appointments, leading with Chief of the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau RUTH MILKMAN as Chief of Staff.
Also appointed were State Department U.S. Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy PHILIP VERVEER as Sr. Counselor to the Chairman; PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE Pres./CEO GIGI SOHN as Special Counsel for External Affairs; former CTIA VP/Regulatory Policy DIANE CORNELL as Special Counsel; attorney DANIEL ALVAREZ as legal advisor for Wireline Competition and Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau matters; Chief of Staff of the Office of Engineering and Technology RENEE GREGORY as legal advisor to the Chairman, with responsibility for issues in the Office of Engineering and Technology and the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and incentive auction issues; and U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Exec. Assistant to the Chairman DEBORAH RIDLEY as Confidential Assistant to the Chairman.
Also, SAGAR DOSHI as Special Assistant to the Chairman; JON SALLET as Interim Dir./Technology Transitions Policy Task Force (to become Acting General Counsel when General Counsel SEAN LEV exits later this year); attorney JON WILKINS as Acting Managing Dir. and Advisor to the Chairman for Management; and Democratic Chief Counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee ROGER SHERMAN as Acting Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau.
