CLEAR CHANNEL has fired corporate Talk Brand Manager and VP/News-Talk Operations and Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI weekend host DARRYL PARKS, according to the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER. ALL ACCESS has independently confirmed the exit as well.
PARKS, the longtime programmer at WLW, joined the station in 1999 from WTVN-A/COLUMBUS after a stint at WGR-A/BUFFALO and was upped to the corporate level in 2010. He recently drew controversy for his criticism of the AM Radio "revitalization" movement and radio conventions on the WLW website (NET NEWS 10/2) and was responsible for developing several shows and directing WLW through a dominant period of 1999-2010.
PARKS has posted the KIESWETTER story and some comments on his FACEBOOK page. Reach DARRYL there or at dparks3871@aol.com or dparks3871@gmail.com.
