Congratulations to L&L BROADCASTING Country WUBB (BOB 106.9)/SAVANNAH, GA’s "MORNING SHOWGRAM" for raising $5,300 for SUSAN G. KOMEN.
"MORNING SHOWGRAM" host TIM LEARY ran a MONTH-long campaign called "TATS FOR TA-TAs" in which listeners could donate $10 to have someone’s name temporarily tattooed on his body for display as he ran the ROCK N’ ROLL HALF-MARATHON.
"I met the most extraordinary people during this," said TIM. "This woman BETTY approached me one time we were out collecting, and handed me $10. She was bald, and her eyebrows drawn on. She handed me the bill as she welled up and said, this is from my husband for me, I just finished my last radiation."
LEARY wound up with 530 logos and names on his body, and finished the 13.1-mile race in two hours and 15 minutes. Congratulate TIM at timlearyradio@gmail.com.
