L.A. radio icon ART LABOE was one of several air personalities cited by GRAMMY.COM who have stood the test of time. Writer CHUCK CRISAFULLI traced LABOE's career from initially taking requests at a drive-in in the mid '50s to today at 88 years old, "overseeing a small radio empire, that includes a nightly syndicated show, Internet programming and his own radio station."
"I'm doing what I've always wanted to do in show business: playing music I love and making people happy," he quotes LABOE, "So I'm not sure why I'd stop."
Other longtime DJs mentioned in the article include "UNCLE" JOE BENSON, RODNEY BINGENHEIMER and SCOTT SHANNON. Read the article here.
