WESTWOODONE and THE WEATHER CHANNEL have signed a multi-year contract extension to take the parties' relationship through 2016.
THE WEATHER CHANNEL VP of Content and Operations FREDDY FLAXMAN said, "The weather impacts every aspect of our lives, and THE WEATHER CHANNEL delivers weather forecasts and content to our fans on every possible platform, so they stay safe and can better plan their day. We are extremely proud of our WEATHER CHANNEL RADIO NETWORK and its ability to reach millions of listeners every day. Our alignment with WESTWOODONE remains a perfect complement to our brand strategy, and we are thrilled to extend that partnership."
WESTWOODONE CEO PAUL CAINE added, "We are delighted to continue our partnership with THE WEATHER CHANNEL and to represent its superior brand across the radio community. Weather is a hugely covetable component in the audio space, and serves as a critical resource for listeners. In fact, we have found that listeners are more likely to tune or tap in for weather information than most all other content. We are happy to know we can continue to provide our listeners access to the best weather information available.”
