Condolences to family and friends of longtime TEXAS radio and TV newsman BILL ALFORD, who died TUESDAY (11/12) after a battle with lung cancer in NACOGDOCHES, TX at 65, according to a death notice in the NACOGDOCHES DAILY SENTINEL.

ALFORD's career started at KIKK/HOUSTON; he also worked in radio at KVET-A-F/AUSTIN, KNUZ-A/HOUSTON, and KIVY-A-F/CROCKETT-NACOGDOCHES.  On television, he worked as a news anchor/producer at then-NBC affiliate KLSB-TV and ABC affiliate KTRE-TV/LUFKIN, NBC affiliate KXAN-TV and then-CBS affiliate KTBC-TV/AUSTON, and CBS affiliate KHOU-TV/HOUSTON.
