SHAMROCK COMMUNICATIONS Alternative KRZQ/RENO, NV announces its 2013 campaign to help the local community through a toy and food drive called "A DAY TO REMEMBER FOR THE KIDS." Beginning TODAY at 10a, 104.1 KRZQ is asking listeners to make their donations by bringing a new unwrapped children's toy or five non-perishable food items to the station in exchange for a acoustic concert set by A DAY TO REMEMBER on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14th at the KNITTING FACTORY.
The band's last trip to NORTHERN NEVADA was in OCTOBER 2009 when they played to over 1,000 fans in SPARKS. With A DAY TO REMEMBER's help, 104.1 KRZQ hopes to raise a significant amount of aid for local charities, including the FOOD BANK OF NORTHERN KIDS KOTTAGE, and other local charities to be announced.
A DAY TO REMEMBER has offered to play this benefit for free as a limited acoustic set with KRZQ covering some expenses. The KNITTING FACTORY in RENO has also very generously agreed to donate their room without charge. This allows KRZQ to host nearly 1,300 people for A DAY TO REMEMBER FOR THE KIDS at 6p.
