STAR, the controversial morning man who was fired from CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WWPR (POWER-105.1)/NEW YORK back in MAY, could have the criminal charges that had been filed against him dropped according to the NEW YORK District Attorney’s office. The firing resulted from what CLEAR CHANNEL claims were “wholly unacceptable” remarks made about rival DJ ENVY. STAR was alleged to have made anti ASIAN remarks and threatened DJ ENVY’s wife, GIA CASEY. In addition he was said to have made threats of sexual abuse against the couple four-year old daughter.
STAR was arrested and charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. Charges against STAR will be dropped if he serves three days of community service and agrees to stay away from the four-year-old victim. STAR claims the ruling represents a victory for freedom of speech. For the full story, click here.
