Comment Deadlines For FCC AM Revitalization Docket Set

Comment dates have been set in the AM Revitalization Notice of Proposed Rulemaking at the FCC.  Comments are due JANUARY 21st, with replies due FEBRUARY 18th.  The NPRM was published in TODAY's Federal Register.

In addition, the FCC has fined ROMAYNE DAVIS $10,000 for operation of an unlicensed station on 89.5 FM in OAKLAND PARK, FL.

And the Commission also denied BACKYARD BROADCASTING's Petition for Reconsideration of the grant of a modification for COLONIAL RADIO GROUP FM translator W254BQ/OLEAN, NY to increase its power to 250 watts on a new frequency and with height and antenna changes.  BACKYARD alleged that the proposed changes violated a rule limiting the distance of a translator's 60 dBu contour within 320 km of the Canadian border; the Commission said that the changes were permitted because the 34 dBu contour did not cross the border.
