CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT Top 40 WDCG (G105)/RALEIGH morning mavens BOB AND THE SHOWGRAM will ask the TRIANGLE AREA to help save the lives of children battling deadly brain tumors. TODAY (11/27), BOB & THE SHOWGRAM will go live from 6a-6p for the 6th annual "BOB’s Buddies" to benefit THE PEDIATRIC BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION radiothon.
In the past five years, BOB’s Buddies has raised almost $800,000 along with awareness of the dangerous cancer that takes so many children’s lives. Each year BOB DUMAS and his BOB & THE SHOWGRAM family host a 12-hour radiothon the day before THANKSGIVING that raises money for the PEDIATRIC BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION. G105 welcomes children, families, survivors and doctors who have all had personal experiences with the life threatening illness on-air to tell their stories. The audience will hear first hand how a little donation can make a big difference.
DUMAS was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007 and is now in remission. While receiving treatment, he learned that children cannot receive the same type of treatment due to their bodies not being able to tolerate it. He decided to use his notoriety to make a difference. Bob’s Buddies was created for two reasons – to raise money that funds the research needed to save children’s lives while also raising awareness of childhood brain cancer. To make a donation
All of the proceeds go to the PEDIATRIC BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION, a nonprofit organization founded by MIKE and DIANNE TRAYNOR in ASHEVILLE, NC. The organization is dedicated to supporting the search for the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors. For more information, call (800) 253-6530 or go to www.pbtfus.org.
