Comedian, actor, best-selling author, podcaster, and FOX SPORTS RADIO host JAY MOHR is adding Internet game show host to his resume with a new show on HULU called "MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS."
Billed by MOHR as "the game where you can lose a friend but wind up with all of his favorite stuff," the show pits best friends against one in another in "an epic battle of man wits for the chance to win bragging rights and each other's most prized possessions," with the value that each contenstant attaches to their respective possessions featuring heavily in the comedic slant of the show.
"This show gives you an insight into what people consider really valuable," says MOHR at the outset of the show's debut episode. "That's why I'm starting to question if man is the most intelligent life form on earth."
As contestants pursue this quest to take what they hold most dear from one another, the early part of the first episode feels a bit like an extension of MOHR's daily FSR sports talk program JAY MOHR SPORTS, with the first few questions testing general sports knowledge (spoiler alert - "Bag Heads" is not the correct answer to the question of what NEW ORLEANS SAINTS fans used to call themsevles back in the days before SEAN PAYTON and DREW BREES rolled into town), but viewers are treated to other, equally masculine lines of questioning as well -- things that MOHR describes as "stuff that only men can know -- like who won the first SUPER BOWL, the exact date of the opening of COMIC-CON, and how to deal with the pain of a sudden bicycle stop."
MOHR goes on to say that "there are those who would discount this kind of information, but they're probably at a Yoga class and reading "50 Shades of Grey" for the fifth time right now, so let's get on with it..." and so a show is born.
At the conclusion of Episode #1, MOHR wraps up the proceeedings by describing the prideful winner as "another guy who just got to put his buddies to shame, and he loved every minute of it," which is clearly the storyline that MOHR and his partners at BELIEVE ENTERTAINMENT, the studio behind "Money Where Your Mouth Is," expect to play out to amusing effect in each installment.
