Longtime WTOP/WASHINGTON reporter-anchor BOB MADIGAN has announced his retirement, effective at the end of the year. Most recently a reporter and previously for 13 years host of WTOP's "Man About Town" feature, he has been with the station for 20 years and previously worked for crosstown WASH, NBC RADIO NETWORKS, TALKNET, KNX-F/LOS ANGELES, and KCBQ-A, KGB-A-F, and KSON-A/SAN DIEGO.
In an email to WTOP staff, VP JIM FARLEY noted MADIGAN's many achievements and awards (including the EDWARD R. MURROW Award) and added, "In the Radio Industry, it is rare for somebody to last 20 years at the same place. It is rarer still when they can leave on their own terms when the time comes. But then, BOB is a rare bird indeed!... He’s been a great colleague and a great friend. We’ll all miss him."
