The FCC has proposed a $20,000 fine against CLEAR CHANNEL's AMFM BROADCASTING LICENSES, LLC for Equal Employment Opportunity rule violations at its CHICAGO cluster, WNUA, WGCI, WLIT, WVAZ, Top 40 WKSC (KISS 103.5), and Urban Inspirational WGRB-A. The fine was based on "failing to comply with the requirement to notify job referral sources about vacancies and to self-assess EEO performance."
Specifically, the Commission said that the company filled 36 full-time vacancies but failed to provide notification of 33 of the vacancies to all organizations that had requested vacancy notification. The licensee also, the Commission said, violated FCC recruitment requirements repeatedly over the two-year reporting period.
The FCC has also dismissed FIRESIDE MEDIA's "Request for Reconsideration and Favorable Reversal" against the grant of a new AM to COLLEEN MCKINNEY at BRAHAM, MN over FIRESIDE's own application at KIRBYVILLE, MO. The applications were mutually exclusive, and MCKINNEY won a dispositive preference because BRAHAM is larger than KIRBYVILLE.
The Commission said that the request repeated issues already decided, and new contentions "introduce no new facts or circumstances that have changed since the last opportunity to present such matters to the Commission."
