METRO NORTH COMMUNICATIONS has signed on WEMP/TWO RIVERS, WI, testing the signal starting on SATURDAY night (12/7) with Oldies using the facilities of SEEHAFER BROADCASTING CORP. AC WLKN (LAKE 98)/CLEVELAND-MANITOWOC-TWO RIVERS, WI, reports NORTHPINE.COM. The station, which carries the heritage calls that long graced 1250 AM in MILWAUKEE (1955-2004) and briefly appeared on MERLIN's short-lived NEW YORK FM News outlet, has applied for a permit to change its community of license to HOWARD'S GROVE, WI, closer to SHEBOYGAN.
METRO NORTH, headed by MARK HELLER, bought the construction permit for the new Class A station from TRI-COUNTY RADIO, INC. for $197,500 in a deal that closed in FEBRUARY.
