Format Moves To WSMY-A

With FIRST MEDIA RADIO, LLC's sale of Sports WCBT-A (AM 1230 THE SCORE)/ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC to JIMMY JOHNSON's JOHNSON BROADCAST VENTURES, LTD. for $100,000 (NET NEWS 9/23), the seller has moved the station's Sports format and ESPN RADIO affiliation to sister Urban Inspirational WSMY-A/WELDON, NC.

The ROANOKE RAPIDS DAILY HERALD reports that the programming was moved in its entirety to the 1400 AM signal on THURSDAY (12/5) at midnight (ET).  WCBT will move to an Urban Inspirational format under its new ownership.
