DC101 To Play Metallica's Black Album On December 21st At Noon

The Darkest Day Of The Year

CCM+E Alternative WWDC (DC101)/WASHINGTON, D.C. announces it will play METALLICA's "Black Album" on the darkest day of the year, DECEMBER 21st from start to finish at noon.

METALLICA's self-titled album was released on AUGUST 12th, 1991.  Fans call it the "Black Album" because of the album's black cover. It has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

The darkest day of the year, known as the "Winter Solstice," is the time of year at which the sun appears at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizon.  There will be more than 14-and-a-half hours of darkness on DECEMBER 21st.
