The HOUSTON ASTROS will honor longtime broadcaster GENE ELSTON before the AUGUST 12 PADRES-ASTROS game at MINUTE MAID PARK, according to the HOUSTON CHRONICLE's DAVID BARRON.
A commemmorative pin will be given to the first 10,000 fans through the gate, and will place plaques in the park's radio booth honoring ELSTON and MILO HAMILTON, also a FRICK Award winner. ELSTON was honored with the 2006 FORD FRICK Award at the BASEBALL HALL OF FAME in COOPERSTOWN, NY on SUNDAY (7/30).
