John M. Dyer Named CEO Of Cox Enterprises

COX ENTERPRISES, parent of COX MEDIA GROUP, will replace the retiring JIMMY W. HAYES in the CEO post for the company with COO JOHN M. DYER, effective JANUARY 1st. DYER has been with COX for 36 years (except for a brief stint at TIMES MIRROR CABLE, which was then sold to COX), serving as CFO of cable operator COX COMMUNICATIONS and then for the parent comoany before being upped to COO.
Chairman JIM KENNEDY said, "In the 36 years JOHN has worked at COX, he has always done a terrific job and always risen to meet every new challenge he was presented. Most recently, he has been an incredible chief operating officer and understands all our businesses. He is committed to our employees and our customers and I'm excited to work with JOHN as he leads our company in an exciting future."
