STEAK SHAPIRO is returning to radio at DICKEY BROADCASTING Sports WCNN-A-W229AG (680 THE FAN)/ATLANTA, where he will replace RAY MARINER as co-host with SANDRA GOLDEN and BRIAN FINNERAN of "THE FRONT ROW," 9a-noon (ET), starting JANUARY 2nd. SHAPIRO was a longtime "MAYHEM IN THE A.M." morning host (and for a time operator and programmer) of crosstown LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Sports WQXI-A (790 THE ZONE) before being fired earlier this year for a comedy bit making fun of former NEW ORLEANS SAINTS player and ALS victim STEVE GLEASON. SHAPIRO's co-host at THE ZONE, CHRIS DIMINO, joined THE FAN this FALL.
WCNN President/GM DAVID DICKEY said, “I am excited to have STEAK back on the Fan. He is one of the best-known and most-talented sports personalities in the country. STEAK will become an important part of what is already the region’s biggest and most-experienced sports-talk line-up. His home-coming is yet another example of DICKEY BROADCASTING COMPANY’s on-going commitment to invest in the best talent, the best content and the biggest partnerships.”
SHAPIRO said, "680 THE FAN gave me my start and is the reason I moved to ATLANTA almost 20 years ago, I am ecstatic to be back there doing what I love to do. THE FAN has been the number one sports talk station in the SOUTH for so many years now and to be able to be a part of such a winning team with so many folks I have worked alongside in the past and consider friends is really thrilling."
