The NAB's "OK2Talk" mental health public service announcement campaign has aired on TV and radio over 231,050 times, with an aggregate of over $26.4 million in donated airtime, the organization announced TODAY (12/13). The campaign was launched on JULY 23rd and directs the public to the OK2Talk.org website where teens and young adults dealing with mental illness can go to exchange stories of recovery, struggle, or hope.
NAB President and CEO GORDON SMITH said, "Broadcasters' overwhelming support of this campaign is a testament to the industry's commitment to making a difference in the lives of viewers and listeners across AMERICA. Indeed, the tremendous public engagement in OK2Talk underscores the intense need for meaningful dialogue on mental health. We thank broadcasters for their phenomenal support of this NAB campaign and urge them to continue carrying these messages, particularly during the holiday season."
