COLUMBIA RECORDS has signed PHARRELL WILLIAMS to a new deal, with a full-length debut on the label set for 2014. WILLIAMS, the Grammy-winning producer-writer-singer, was featured on two of 2013's biggest hits, ROBIN THICKE's "Blurred Lines" and DAFT PUNK's "Get Lucky." His current single "Happy" appeared on the soundtrack to "DESPICABLE ME 2" and will be included on the new album as well; the song was the soundtrack for WILLIAMS' 24 hour music video last month. He has been nominated for seven Grammys in the current competition.
COLUMBIA RECORDS Chairman/CEO ROB STRINGER said, “When we excitedly partnered with PHARRELL in JANUARY of this year, we felt it was his time again. Since then, ‘Blurred Lines’ and ‘Get Lucky’ have defined pop music in 2013, and now we are preparing to launch PHARRELL as a global solo superstar in 2014. ‘Happy’ is just the beginning.”
