WOIC Joins ESPN Radio Jan. 1st

L&L BROADCASTING Talk WOIC/COLUMBIA, SC announced that it will kick off the Sports ESPN RADIO format on JAN. 1st, 2014. As part of the launch, the station will carry a double header of NEW YEAR’S DAY bowl games, including the CAPITAL ONE BOWL (where the SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS will take on the WISCONSIN BADGERS) and the Rose Bowl (where STANFORD plays MICHIGAN STATE).  

The following week, the station will also carry the COTTON BOWL (OKLAHOMA STATE vs. MISSOURI), the ORANGE BOWL (CLEMSON vs. OHIO STATE), and the BCS Championship Game (FLORIDA STATE vs. AUBURN).  

“We’re excited to bring the iconic ESPN brand back to the thousands of sports fans in COLUMBIA,” Market Manager BILL MCELVEEN said.  “ESPN’s dominance in the sports arena is unparalleled, and we are delighted to be partnering with them in this venture.”

The on-air lineup will include MIKE & MIKE in the Morning (6-10a), The Herd with COLIN COWHERD (10a-1p), and SVP & RUSILLO (1-4p). After that comes local programming in The Zone with DUANE "THE SHOT DOCTOR" EVERETT (4-6p) and Sports Hotline with BOBBY GIST and ERNEST ROBINSON (6-7p).

In addition, ESPN COLUMBIA 1230 AM will broadcast every CHARLOTTE BOBCATS game and a full slate of national NBA games from ESPN RADIO.
