CUMULUS Adult Hits WIQI (i100)/CHICAGO will switch to a simulcast of Alternative WKQX-LP (Q87.7) beginning this FRIDAY, JANUARY 10th at 9a. CUMULUS announced last week (NET NEWS 1/3) that it would return the Alternative format to its former home at 101.1 FM. The move will boost WKQX from an audio track of an LPTV station on Channel 6 to full market coverage in CHICAGO.
WKQX OM JIM RICHARDS said, "Our FACEBOOK posts, jocks, and imaging will continue to carry on the moving theme for the next 30-45 days."
No word yet on if WKQX will return to the Q101 handle, which is currently owned by radio syndication company BROADCAST BARTER RADIO NETWORKS.
