THE MEDIA AUDIT/IPSOS says that its 84 city, 114,035-respondent telephone study shows NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO as the fourth most-listened-to format in radio, behind News-Talk, Country, and CHR.
The company, one of the firms looking to provide radio ratings to the industry, says that it has always and will always include noncommercial stations in its reports, including the new "Smart Cell Phone" program. The study shows NPR stations, which include stations in several different formats, with an audience 75% as large as the News-Talk format.
