The FCC has proposed a $1,000 fine against PACIFICA FOUNDATION, INC. for public file violations at noncommercial Variety KPFK/LOS ANGELES.
PACIFICA volunteered in its license renewal application that quarterly issues/programs lists from the first three quarters of 2008 and first quarter 2009 were missing, and added that its records showed that the lists from 2008 were timely prepared but the 2009 list was not and blamed the problem on managerial turnover. The fine was reduced from the base $10,000 due to its representation that the 2008 lists were prepared and put in the file but later misplaced or discarded.
