The ST, LOUIS CARDINALS have inked the team's longtime radio broadcaster and former player MIKE SHANNON to a multi-year contract extension. SHANNON and JOHN ROONEY call CARDS games on a network headed by CBS RADIO Talk KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS.
SHANNON will call all home games and some road games, with ex-CARDS and FOX SPORTS MIDWEST personalities RICK HORTON and AL HRABOSKY sitting in for about 50 road games in SHANNON's absence. SHANNON will continue to host shows from his restaurant after all TUESDAY and FRIDAY home games and appear on pre- and post-game shows and on KMOX's morning show.
CBS RADIO ST. LOUIS SVP-Market Manager JOHN SHEEHAN said, “MIKE truly is the Voice of the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS. We are very fortunate to have him leading this very talented broadcast team on AMERICA’s Sports Voice.”
