The highly-anticipated BEATS MUSIC service launches TOMORROW,yet its arrival prompted rival music services to change their music policies. HYPEBOT.COM reports that last week, SPOTIFY and RDIO dropped listening limits on their free options to differentiate themselves from BEATS MUSIC, while PANDORA has launched a creative commercial campaign to spotlight added recommendations to its service.
Undaunted, BEATS MUSIC -- overseen by DR. DRE, JIMMY IOVINE and TRENT REZNOR -- plans on using their star power and a high-profile marketing campaign to attract maximum interest. Another HYPEBOT report cites sources predicting that "marketing campaign will regular plugs on 'The ELLEN DEGENERES Show' the spring, a SUPER BOWL ad that will feature new artists, and other major ad buys. There have been unconfirmed rumors that BEATS MUSIC will also have spots on the JAN 26th GRAMMY AWARDS telecast.
According to USA TODAY, BEATS MUSIC will cost $9.99 a month after its free trial offer expires; its calling card is live music curators in place of a computer genome. Its 20-million-song library has been incorporated the MOG music service that BEATS acquired in 2012; MOG subscribers will be transferred to BEATS MUSIC, then MOG will be shuttered.
