A board member of MENDOCINO COUNTY PUBLIC BROADCASTING noncommercial KZYX/PHILO-MENDOCINO, CA says that he is filing an objection to the station's license renewal.
The SANTA ROSA PRESS DEMOCRAT reports that JOHN SAKOWICZ, who serves as Treasurer for KZYX's board and hosts a show on the station, said that he is "trying to save the station, not destroy it" by filing a letter accusing GM JOHN COATE of, among other things, manipulating board elections, withholding information, not advertising open jobs, and hiring a reporter who formerly worked for the VOICE OF AMERICA, which SAKOWICZ called "almost by admission a CIA property."
COATE called SAKOWICZ's allegations false and said that he doubts that the FCC will intervene in the internal dispute.
