BROADCAST MANAGEMENT SERVICES Talk/Brokered KCAA-A/SAN BERNARDINO is accepting BITCOIN for ad sales payments, reports LARADIO.COM. The station took its first payment in Bitcoin, the digital alternative currency, through the Coinbase service on FRIDAY (1/17).
CEO FRED LUNDGREN said, "Our first transaction paid us 9.4 BITCOINS which Coinbase displayed as approximately $7,200.00 USD. These funds will appear in the KCAA bank account in two to three business days. The value of Bitcoin as a digital currency will grow as more businesses accept it as payment. Its sure to become the viable alternative to ever increasing bank charges".
" It's impossible to find a list of early BITCOIN adopters because it's a worldwide decentralized payment system," LUNDGREN added. "Therefore, we can't be certain that KCAA is the first commercial radio station in the world to accept Bitcoin but we are probably the first in NORTH AMERICA."
