84 members of Congress are calling for FCC Chairman KEVIN MARTIN to allow for public input in the media ownership rule review. The group, led by Rep. MAURICE HINCHEY (D-NY), are asking for an open and transparent process in the review, contending that the FCC's plan to offer opportunities for comment on its web site and in public meetings do "not go far enough." Public comment is due SEPTEMBER 22 in the matter.
