SINCLAIR BROADCAST GROUP Hot AC KPLZ (STAR 101.5)/SEATTLE's PD/morning show host KENT PHILLIPS just found out he is the lucky winner in the season ticket holder's lottery for the opportunity to purchase tickets to SUPER BOWL XLVIII when the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS take on the DENVER BRONCOS on SUNDAY (2/2).
After receiving the good news, a debate with his wife KELLEY then began to decide if he should attend the game, or sell the tickets? For KELLEY the answer for her was clear, and KENT would sell the tickets so she could purchase a new handbag.
After bringing the debate to FACEBOOK and discussing the dilemma on the air, a decision was made to donate the tickets to CHILDREN's HOSPITAL. The tickets will be auctioned off to the highest bidder live on the air on MONDAY (1/27) with the proceeds benefiting SEATTLE CHILDREN's HOSPITAL which is RUSSELL WILSON's favorite charity.
KENT PHILLIPS commented, "KELLEY and I talked about it. RUSSELL WILSON is our favorite player and what better way to honor the team and him than donate tickets to CHILDREN's HOSPITAL and auction them off on the air and put the money to some real good use! We got lucky and got the tickets, our kids both went to CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL when they were young and this is a chance to pay it forward and help another child!"
UPDATE (1/28): After a bidding war live on the air, the SUPERBOWL tickets raised $5,500 for the cause.
