JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP VP/News-Talk Programming TOM LANGMYER checks in with ALL ACCESS to report that News-Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE and its website WTMJ.com are looking for an Executive Producer, Digital/News.
LANGMYER says that JOURNAL is looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, Media or a related field, with strong news judgment; the ability to work and make vital decisions under pressure; sound knowledge of journalistic standards and libel laws; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills; digital/web skills; and on-air abilities at a level appropriate for the MILWAUKEE market. Candidates must have at least three years' reporting/anchoring experience, and assistant news director, news director or similar backgrounds are preferred.
The job entails leading the news staff and day-to-day operations of the news department, ensuring that WTMJ's news vision, disciplines and standards are effectively implemented and monitored; scheduling; assignments; reporting/anchoring; overseeing severe weather coverage; and managing personnel and maintaining budgets.
