CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WVOC-F/COLUMBIA, SC has dropped the longrunning regionally-syndicated "SPORTS TALK" show from its 6-8p (ET) slot in favor of picking up PREMIERE's SEAN HANNITY, reports THE STATE. At the same time, THE STATE reports that companion show "SPORTS TALK FIRST EDITION" has been dropped from the 1-3p slot at sister Sports WXBT-A (560 THE TEAM), replaced by morning "TALKING SPORTS WITH TEDDY HEFFNER" co-host RICK SANFORD.
"SPORTS TALK," hosted by PHIL KORNBLUT, KEVIN MCCRAREY and TOM HAYES, originates from COLUMBIA and airs on other stations in the region through LEARFIELD COMMUNICATIONS.
KORNBLUT wrote at the show's website, "As you may know, FRIDAY night was our final show on our COLUMBIA station and LEARFIELD COMMUNICATIONS, the owner of SPORTSTALK, will announce a new COLUMBIA home for the show in the near future. Some of you might have been confused by media coverage. Just to clarify ... SPORTSTALK is still alive and well and available on 25 stations around the state. The show is just not going to be on a COLUMBIA station for the immediate future. However, COLUMBIA area listeners can still find us on the radio." KERSHAW RADIO CORP. Oldies WPUB-F (KOOL 102.7)/CAMDEN, SC, which can he heard in much of COLUMBIA, also airs the show.
