After only three weeks into its new format, COX Top 40 WFLC (HITS 97-3)/MIAMI PD TOM CALOCOCCI has left the building. COX VP/Programming STEVE SMITH and Dir./Top 40 Programming JEREMY RICE are overseeing the station as his replacement is being sought.
CALOCOCCI told ALL ACCESS, "I want to thank STEVE SMITH, KIM GUTHRIE, STEVE HUNTER and DAN KEARNEY (who is now with the CBS/LOS ANGELES) for the opportunity to work at such a great company. I had the pleasure of working with some truly talented people at CMG in MIAMI and I wish them all well.
"One of the things I will miss most about working for CMG is how much they truly care about their employees and the wonderful resources and working environment they provide.
"I'm proud of the recent launch of the NEW HITS 97–3. The station is well-positioned to perform well in SOUTH FLORIDA, with the KVJ Show in mornings and a very talented air staff that is live and local all day. I wish them all the very best and lots of success in the future!
"I will begin exploring my opportunities and look forward to the chance to work for another great company and continue to do what I love, which is radio!"
