ALL ACCESS has learned RADIO ONE veteran air personality MIKE ROBERTS has passed away at the age of 54 from cancer. He had been a member of the RADIO ONE family for nearly 30 years. RADIO ONE BALTIMORE GM HOWARD MAZER said, "We will miss MIKE's smiling face and great stories from his radio career. Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers."
OM AL PAYNE told ALL ACCESS, "MIKE was the backbone of our BALTIMORE cluster of stations -- a true professional. He was also a dedicated husband and father. Our hearts are heavy."
Longtime friend and fellow air personality TIM WATTS offered, "We lost one of the great ones in MIKE ROBERTS. My dear friend's real name was SAMUEL ANDERSON. MIKE worked in radio for about 30 years -- some of the time he was a behind-the-scenes type. He could hold down an air shift with the best of them. R.I.P MIKE."
Funeral arrangements have been made with the viewing to held at MARCH FUNERAL HOME 4300 Wabash Ave in BALTIMORE this SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd from 10a-6p. The wake is set for MONDAY, FEBRUARY 24th at COLONIAL BAPTIST CHURCH, 9411 Liberty Rd. in RANDALLSTOWN, MD at 10a.
