The FCC has proposed a $17,000 fine against COCHISE BROADCASTING LLC for main studio and public inspection file violations at Adult Standards KOMJ-A (MAGIC 1490)/OMAHA.
An agent attempted to inspect the station on AUGUST 1st, 2013 but could not find an address for the main studio. The company eventually responded that the programming comes from ARIZONA and the studio and public file are located at NBC affiliate KMTV (TV)/OMAHA's building, but the lease had expired and the receptionist there was unaware of any files. JOURNAL, owner of KMTV, said that KOMJ did have a file there but that KMTV had no designated space for KOMJ nor management presence for the station. The lack of staffing and file accessibility problems led to the assessment of the fine.
