WQED MULTIMEDIA Classical WQED-F/PITTSBURGH has cut two staffers and reduced local programming due to financial considerations, reports the PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW.
The two jobs cut were not disclosed, although Pres./CEO DEBORAH ACKLIN said that one staffer took a buyout and the other was laid off.
The station also cut back JIM CUNNINGHAM's local morning show from 6-11a to 6-9a. ANNA SINGER's midday show has been reduced from 11a-4p to 11a-2p, and TED SOHIER's afternoon "COMMUTER CLASSICS" also drops two hours, moving from 4-9p to 4-7p. WQED will fill the schedule with programming from AMERICAN PUBLIC RADIO and PUBLIC RADIO INTERNATIONAL's CLASSIC 24 syndicated music service.
