JAMES CRYSTAL RADIO Talk WFTL-A/WEST PALM BEACH-FORT LAUDERDALE-MIAMI host RICH STEVENS has apologized for an incident in which he recreated a report on the rescue of a dying baby on a MIAMI highway for use by NBC NEWS.
STEVENS told ALL ACCESS, "I apologize for any misunderstanding or confusion, we had the info fed to us by the traffic people and repackaged it for NBC NEWS as they requested. "
Gossip columnist JOSE LAMBIET's GOSSIPEXTRA.COM reported that the widely publicized roadside rescue was augmented on NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT over the weekend by a report from WFTL, with STEVENS heard saying "We have several reports of a woman exiting her vehicle, screaming for help!" The report that appeared on NBC was a recreation in the studio, because the station did not cover the incident live; GM STEVE LAPA told LAMBIET, “The information fed to RICH was accurate. We had the info fed to us by the traffic people, and there’s nothing wrong with how we voiced it.”
In other STEVENS news, the host recently heard that a friend who appears in a picture from his own Bar Mitzvah turned out to murder his parents, so he posted the photo and asked listeners to guess the murderer as a social experiment. See the photo and guess the killer here, and hear STEVENS reveal the answer here.
