The FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION has approved a consent order settling charges that the acquisition of ARBITRON by NIELSEN HOLDINGS N.V. would be anticompetitive because it would concentrate the control of cross-platform audience measurement.
The order requires NIELSEN to sell and license for at least eight years "certain assets related to ARBITRON’s cross-platform audience measurement services to an FTC-approved buyer," and the FTC is seeking public comment on the proposed sale of LinkMeter technology to comSCORE, INC.
The order was approved on a 2-1-1 vote.
