SCOTT SHANNON debuted on CBS RADIO Classic Hits WCBS-F/NEW YORK this morning with a roar -- and perhaps a subtle message.
When the clock struck 6a, a "Space Odyssey" rolled as the bed for audio clips of famous BIG APPLE jocks. That was followed with an aircheck of the 1983 kick-off of SHANNON's legendary WHTZ (Z100) and finished with audio memories from the SCOTT & TODD SHOW that SHANNON just left on CUMULUS Hot AC WPLJ.
SHANNON then cracked the mic, saying it was "time to turn the page," introducing himself to the CBS-F audience before rolling what was Z100's sign on song -- "Eye Of The Tiger" by SURVIVOR.
Following the show, SHANNON told ALL ACCESS, "We had a great first morning with some terrific guests. JON BON JOVI, BILLY BUSH from 'ACCESS HOLLYWOOD,' MICKI DOLENZ who worked here at one time, the legendary COUSIN BRUCE, DR. OZ, DEBORAH NORVILLE from 'INSIDE EDITION,' and ROBERT LAMB from CHICAGO.
"It truly is great to be back on the air TODAY (3/3) at CBS-FM -- and (PD) JIM RYAN's riding me like a cowboy with sharp spurs. Reminds me of me. I think this going to be a great time for all of us."
