FLINN BROADCASTING Adult Hits WJXN/JACKSON, MS flipped to Classic Country TODAY (3/3) as “100.9 THE LEGEND, YOUR HOME FOR GREAT COUNTRY LEGENDS” following a weekend of stunting that included loops of JOHNNY and JUNE CASH’s “Jackson” and RICK DEES’ “Disco Duck.”
TODAY’s switch occurred at 12:00p (CT), with WILLIE NELSON’s “Whiskey River” kicking off 10,000 songs in a row.
Though owned by FLINN, WJXN is LMA’d to NEW SOUTH subsidiary THE RADIO PEOPLE, which will pair “THE LEGEND” with mainstream Country clustermate WUSJ, whose PD RUSS WILLIAMS adds similar duties for “THE LEGEND.”
WILLIAMS tells ALL ACCESS the station will go without live jocks for now and the music is being programmed locally with an assist from RUSTY WALKER PROGRAMMING CONSULTANTS (RWPC) associate J.J. JOBE.
The station’s new website has posted a logo and a promise of the new website coming soon. See it here
