Several Deals Close While FCC's Closed

The FCC, like the rest of the federal government, was closed on MONDAY due to the storm hitting the Mid-Atlantic states, but the agency's database still added some deal closings.
Among the closings, 4-K'S LLLP closed on the sale of Sports KCKK-A (MILE HIGH SPORTS 1510)/LITTLETON, CO and FM translator K229BS/LAKEWOOD, CO to HUNT BROADCASTING LLC for $1.6 million.
UNIVISION RADIO's TICHENOR LICENSE CORP./UNIVISION RADIO BROADCASTING TEXAS LLP closed on the sale of Spanish Hits KPTY (105.3 TU MUSICA, simulcasting KAMA-F/DEER PARK-HOUSTON)/WINNIE-BEAUMONT, TX to EXCEL MEDIA, LLC for $525,000.
KIRBY BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of Country WKJT (KJ COUNTRY 102.3)/TEUTOPOLIS-EFFINGHAM, IL to GAYLA JO RING's PREMIER BROADCASTING INC. for $470,279.62 in a promissory note.
SALISBURY UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, INC. closed on the transfer of noncommercial WSCL/SALISBURY, MD and WSDL/OCEAN CITY, MD to SALISBURY UNIVERSITY.
DAVID ERICKSEN has closed on the sale of FM translators K296DW/LONE PINE, CA and K285CP/MAMMOTH LAKES, CA to GREG BOWLES for $10.
And in a closing yet to appear in the database, CURTIS MEDIA, INC.'s EASTERN AIRWAVES, LLC has closed on the purchase of FM translator W285EU/JAMESTOWN (HIGH POINT), NC from TRI-AD FAMILY NETWORK, INC. for $10,000. MEDIA SERVICES GROUP's BOB HEYMANN served as exclusive broker representing the buyer in the transaction.

ONDA CULTURAL DEL SUR INC, GUANICA, PRMeanwhile, in CANADA, the CRTC approved VISTA RADIO LTD.'s application for a new Adult Rock/Classic Rock FM in GRAND FORKS, BC, replacing its existing CKGF (MOUNTAIN FM)/GREENWOOD, BC, which it said has an impeded signal in GRAND FORKS, the primary population and business center in the EAST KOOTENAY region. The new station at 102.3 FM will maintain CKGF's rebroadcasting transmitters in ROCK CREEK and CHRISTINA LAKE, BC, and CKGF's present GREENWOOD transmitter will remain in service rebroadcasting the new station. CKGF began on AM in GRAND FORKS, moved to FM in 1984, and shut down its GRAND FORKS operation in 2004, with the GREENWOOD transmitter taking over as originating station.
