IMPACT RADIO has adjusted its programming structure, effective immediately for its BOISE cluster.
Cluster Production Dir. JAMES GARNER has been named PD for Adult Hits KSRV (96.1 BOB-FM). In addition, KEVIN CRUISE joins as the new PD for Top 40/R KWYD (WILD 101) and the company’s new acquisition, Hot AC KZMG (MY 102.7). GARNER and CRUISE fill the posts previously held by MARK FEATHER, who has left the company (NET NEWS 3/3).
CEO/Market MGR. DARRELL CALTON commented on the change, “JAMES has been a big part of BOB-FM since the early days of the station. He grew into his position as a go to person for 96.1. We decided we wanted a dedicated programmer to oversee this brand and JAMES was the easy choice. We’re very happy to reward him for his hard work and contributions to IMPACT.”
Regarding CRUISE, CALTON said, “KEVIN was an obvious choice for our other two brands. He helped set ratings and revenue records while PD of U92 in SALT LAKE CITY, which have never been matched. It was one of the formats most-respected brands during his tenure. We knew KEVIN could bring his passion, creativity and energy here to help us keep WILD 101 as a top-echelon station.”
With regard to KZMG, CALTON noted, “KEVIN also has experience launching successful brands, and we’re heading into our first full book with this new radio station. KEVIN has a skill set to get his stations on the map and quickly so he’s a great fit here as well.”
GARNER commented, "I want to thank DARELL CALTON and IMPACT RADIO for this incredible opportunity. I couldn't be more excited about the future of BOB FM, and IMPACT RADIO GROUP."
CRUISE added, “I am thrilled to be returning to the Mountain West and heading up two incredible brands. The team at IMPACT RADIO is a fantastic group of people who understand what it takes to entertain listeners, and provide the tools to win. I’m incredibly thankful for such a wonderful opportunity to be with WILD 101 and MY 102.7.”
