The $3.9 trillion federal budget proposed for Fiscal Year 2015 by President OBAMA TUESDAY (3/4) includes the FCC's $375,380,313 budget request, which the agency said will add funding for reform of the Universal Service Fund Support Program, resources for mission-critical systems, a Do-Not-Call registry for telephone numbers used by Public Safety Answering Points, replacement of the Enforcement Bureau's equipment, information technology improvements, and to "improve the evolution of the Broadband map."
Among the provisions are a request for $106 million (up $7.3 million from FY2013 and FY 2014) for the Incentive Auctions program, and another run at getting authorization for a Spectrum License User Fee on unauctioned licenses, which it estimates would bring in $4.8 billion between 2015 and 2024.
