Condolences to family and friends of longtime LOS ANGELES radio personality and television game show host GEOFF EDWARDS, who died TODAY (3/5) of complications of pneumonia in SANTA MONICA, CA at 83.
EDWARDS, a NEW JERSEY native who worked in ALBANY, NY and WEST PALM BEACH and at KFMB-A/SAN DIEGO, was best known in radio for his long stints at KMPC-A and KFI-A/LOS ANGELES, resigning from the latter in 1989 after his suspension for denouncing a bit by then-afternoon host TOM LEYKIS involving destroying CAT STEVENS records; EDWARDS' show was replaced by the syndicated RUSH LIMBAUGH show He also worked at KHJ-A and KSUR-A in the market and hosted a show for the short-lived CYPRESS RADIO NETWORK. He also appeared as an actor in several TV shows and movies and hosted "THE NEW TREASURE HUNT" and "JACKPOT!," among other game and panel shows. Most recently, he wrote and hosted radio shows about travel.
