Longtime TWIN CITIES radio personality, musician and writer T.D. MISCHKE, who left CBS RADIO News-Talk WCCO-A/MINNEAPOLIS last year indicating that he was done with radio, is returning, but not to broadcast radio. MISCHKE told his FACEBOOK friends FRIDAY that he will be doing a video web series for crosstown CUMULUS Classic Rock KQRS morning host TOM BARNARD's new podcast venture.
MISCHKE, who developed a loyal following over many years at HUBBARD's crosstown KSTP-A, wrote that he will be back in MAY with "THE MISCHKE ROAD SHOW" as "kind of glorified Tramp, wandering this world of ours and talking to people (well, I’ll sometimes still talk to myself, that’s a given)" with a videographer on hand. He said that he is sitting out a non-compete clause in his WCCO contract until MAY 10th and will kick the new era off with a one-night, two-man stage show at O'GARA'S in ST PAUL on MAY 8th with songwriter MIKE GUNTHER.
Also in BARNARD's podcast network plans, according to MISCHKE, are comedian LOUIE ANDERSON and former CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KFXN (THE FAN) and HUBBARD Sports KSTP-A (1500 ESPN) host JEFF DUBAY. "We’re all latching on to TOM’s network, but we’re all independent contractors, working on our own, making it, or failing, solely on our ability to promote our programs and attract some interest. If we attract advertisers, we eat, if we don’t we visit food shelves after hours. It’s wonderfully black and white in that way."
