After a two-and-half-year run as a AC/Triple A hybrid (THE PEAK), OHANA MEDIA GROUP KDBZ/ANCHORAGE has changed formats to OLDIES 102.1 as of LAST FRIDAY (3/7)
VP/Programming TOM OAKES told ALL ACCESS, “The switch was made after quite a bit of thought that had been going on since this past NOVEMBER. The revenue and ratings simply were not there to support the station so we decided to try something new and different.
“OLDIES 102.1 music is centered on the ‘60s & '70s, features “Beatles Brunch” with JOE JOHNSON each SUNDAY MORNING and will offer ABC News Now throughout the day along with Virtual Weather Center with JOHN WETHERBEE. We anticipate on adding on-air talent in a couple of months.”
