In an effort to get the "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE" message out over the ST. PATRICK's DAY weekend, CBS RADIO Hot AC KZZO (NOW 100.5)/SACRAMENTO morning show host TODD BAKER will be consuming one alcoholic beverage every 15 to 20 minutes live on the air on FRIDAY (3/14).
A CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL officer will be administering TODD a breathalizer test every 15 minutes to monitor his blood-alcohol level. The event will also be televised live on local CBS affiliate KMAX-TV's "GOOD DAY SACRAMENTO" show.
According to TODD BAKER, "Many people don’t realize how little alcohol it takes to become legally impaired and become a hazard to not only themselves but to others on the roadways. I’m grateful for our partnership with the CHP so we can encourage people to be safe all weekend long."
NOW 100.5 PD CHAD RUFER commented, "So many times people go out to ‘happy hours’ or have a drink after work and they don’t realize how impaired they truly are. Our hope is that this event with the CHP opens our listeners’ eyes a little bit and allows them to remain safe."
CHP Public Information Officer LIZ DUTTON added, "Luck is not going to prevent drunk driving collisions from happening, drivers making responsible decisions can prevent a needless tragedy. At the end of the day, a little bit of prevention can be the difference in saving a life."
