KATZ MEDIA GROUP (KMG)'s fifth annual membership drive to support the BROADCASTERS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA brought its total support to more than $170,000. For more than six decades, the BFA has provided financial assistance to those in the radio and television profession who find themselves in acute need. The funds raised help provide them with vital medications, rehabilitation services and sometimes everyday essentials, such as food and rent.
“The BROADCASTERS FOUNDATION does incredible work for those in need,” KATZ RADIO GROUP Pres. MARK GRAY said. “Every year, our company looks forward to the opportunity to come together and make a difference. I’m enormously proud of our employees continued dedication, which to date has raised more than $170,000 over the past five years. The contributions have even more meaning for Katz as it supports the STU OLDS MEMORIAL FUND, in honor and memory of our former Pres./CEO.”
KATZ initiated the first corporate membership drive in 2009. The STU OLDS MEMORIAL FUND was established in 2011 to commemorate former KMG Pres./CEO STU OLDS, who was a long-time member and Vice Chairman of the BROADCASTERS FOUNDATION.
“KATZ is an incredible champion for the FOUNDATION,” BFA Pres. JIM THOMPSON said. “The individuals we help aren’t strangers, they are our former colleagues. KATZ’s contributions and support over the years, has enabled us to fulfill our mission of helping those in our industry who have fallen on hard times.”
