GREATER MEDIA Classic Rock WCSX/DETROIT morning show TRUDI AND JIM and The U.S. POSTAL SERVICE unveiled the new JIMI HENDRIX stamp this morning at THE DETROIT SCHOOL OF ROCK AND POP MUSIC in ROYAL OAK, MI.
Guitarists brought their electric guitars and amps for a unison tribute performance of The Star Spangled Banner just prior to the unveiling, similar to HENDRIX in 1969, when he headlined WOODSTOCK and performed a featured rendition of the National Anthem.
The limited-edition Forever stamp is now available at your local U.S. Postal Office. The stamp comes out decades after the musician died in 1970, when a stamp cost just six cents. Today a stamp costs 49 cents.
